Empire State Bldg. Shooting, Dumb Politicians, Dumber Drugs

One more crazy shooting. More more you-know-what for brains politician clamoring for more gun control. This is truly pathetic. New York City, my home town, has just about the toughest gun control laws in the country. Is it the same people that like policies that fail, that like "health care" that fails?

Wacky people do these horrific things. But wacky people are treated by drugs, allegedly to help them, that are known to cause sudden outbursts of extreme violence, up to and including mass homicide, and suicide. Many cases have been documented in troubled people who were otherwise always very peaceful.

So, whose at fault for these deaths, at the hands of mass killers fueled by legally prescribed drugs? The doctors who prescribed those drugs? Big Pharma? The government agencies who collude with them?

What do YOU think?

Bogus "Romney as Murderer" Ad vs. Chiropractic Sense by Dr Harte

There was the infamous ad, two weeks ago, with the out-of-work steel worker accusing Romney of murdering his wife by laying him off, thus depriving his wife of "health care." It turns out that she had health insurance for two more years under her employment, until she was injured and left work. Then, there was a period with no insurance. Some time after that, she was diagnosed with cancer, and died shortly thereafter.

OK, political ads will be sleazy. In this arena, the CORRECTING THE CAUSE blog, let's leave the politics, and the ethics or lack thereof of that ad aside.

Behind that ad is the assumption that, if that steel worker's wife had "health insurance," or "access," then she would still be alive today. This is, on the face of it, stupid!

Cancer does not occur overnight. That woman had to have had that cancer cooking for years if not decades. Before that, her immune system had to be asleep for a long time, to allow that cancer to develop.

Would "access" to "health care" have prevented that cancer? Absolutely not! Would it have caught it earlier? Probably not significantly. And, if it did, the outcome probably would have been the same. You really want to know the insane belief behind that ad? "If you have great access to 'health care,' you will never get really sick, and you will never die." Like I said, this whole thing is stupid.

The best thing you can do for future health? Be under regular, wellness chiropractic care, allowing your immune system, and every other system, to function properly, without interference.

Medical Fantasy in the Media by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

I've been enjoying  the "ME TV" station lately. It features stuff from the 60's and 70's. One of the shows I have been watching is "The Fugitive," in all its gritty black-and-white glory.

For those who don't know the story line of the show (or the far more recent movie of the same name with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones), Dr. Richard Kimble is wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife, and sentenced to death. When the train to the prison is derailed, he escapes, and is on the run, all the time searching for the one-armed man that he saw kill his wife. Along the way, he takes various menial jobs to stay alive.

A strong undercurrent in this series (and the movie) is Dr. Kimble's extreme results and passion as a medical doctor, even when on the run. In one that I saw last week, which took place on the Santa Monica pier, Dr. Kimble was hired as a caretaker for a man (played by Robert Duvall) who hadn't moved a limb in years. Though the character played by Duvall was as miserable as could be, and as hopeless as could be, Dr. Kimble cared, and got him to walk again. In the movie, with the U.S. Marshals hot on his tail, he sneeks into this Chicago hospital, dressed as an orderly, to look up records to try to find his "one-armed man." In the midst of this, he is asked by a nurse to take a young boy, in obvious respiratory distress, to some part of the hospital. Dr. Kimble sneeks a look at the kid's X-rays, remarks the chart, gets the kid into emergency surgery, saving his life.

I remember when I was seven or eight years old, watching other "heroic" medical shows, "Ben Casey" and "Dr. Kildaire." There I was, on the floor with a notebook, a Merck Manual and a medical dictionary. This is why my first path was to be a medical doctor.

How much has society as a whole been lead down this path to the "infallibility of Medicine?" Miracle after miracle. And if they don't yet have "The Cure," give them a few more billion, and "the cure is right around the corner." Isn't that why people run for this disease and walk for that disease?

What about the media fantasy of the passion of the medical doctor, as exemplified by Dr's Casey, Kildaire and Kimble? No, it's a lot of cookbook stuff, pulled this way and that by perks from the pharmaceutical companies, and endless, stupid government regulations. How passionate do you think that the M.D.'s will be if and when they are reduced to government bureaucrats? Lotsa luck!

In the real world, despite the weird prejudices and expectations of society, it is the authentic chiropractor who gets the "miracle" results. It is the chiropractor who is full of passion. This is passion to allow Innate Intelligence to express itself more fully, in more and more people, until, over time, with better, more fully functioning people, we will have a better community, state, nation... world! Over time, this will lead to a greater unfolding of the genetic potential of the human race. This is the Big Vision of Chiropractic! Forget the medical fantasy. See, experience and talk up the chiropractic reality.

Dr Harte's Re-Learning of the Stress Cause of VSC

This past weekend, I was at truly outstanding chiropractic seminar, "The Wave." Well-adjusted the first day, hearing great speakers, surrounded by my brother and sister chiropractors, who are real chiropractors, not medical wannabees. I was feeling good!

Then, a speaker came on the stage, with whom I had had some problems with. He said something that, I knew, truly exposed his evil character. (It had to do with his anti-Semitism.) Steam was coming out of my ears. I could feel the vertebrae in my neck spinning, and I knew that I was extremely subluxated. I stormed out of the room, found a colleague, and got him to adjust me. Instantly, not only did I feel better physically, but the rage disappeared.

Over a hundred years ago, the founder of Chiropractic, Dr. D.D. Palmer, wrote (in his 19th Century languaging) that there are three cause of subluxation: "traumatism, intoxication and autosuggestion." In today's vernacular, physical trauma, bad chemicals and stress. He rated stress as the worst cause, chemicals as #2, and physical trauma, what everyone thinks of in relation to Chiropractic, as the least important cause.

Go over your own life, not just last week, but your whole life. What traumas... emotional, chemical and physical... have you been through? The subluxations they produced, whether painful or not, exist today to disallow you from expressing Life fully. Some may cause pain. Some may cause disease. All will cause dis-ease, a lack of normal function.

Get checked. Get adjusted. Get everyone you know in to get checked. You are in a position to radically change people's lives for the better! You might save a life!
