A few weeks ago, the Wall Street Journal did a big article on death from prescription pain-killers. The point of the article that, while we are spending all this money fighting illegal drugs, legal drugs are killing far more people. Ok, Medicine works.
It should be obvious to anyone that the use of pain-killers (including anti-inflammatories) is just suppressing the symptom, leaving whatever is wrong to get worse. This is not science. This is foolishness. People go for it because they are told that they have no choice. But they do. If you want to deal with the cause, get adjusted. No, not for pain relief. That is a nice side effect.
There is so much abuse of prescription pain-killers, so much legal addiction, that Medicine now has rehab for the addicts that it has produced, and "pain management" for those who are in training. This is nuts!
