A Fishy Story: Chiropractic vs. Medicine

I just took down from my bulletin board (if you're a Practice Member, and you don't check the boards...) a full page plus drug ad. The drug? Lovaza. The headline? "TOO MUCH FAT IN YOUR BLOOD?"

This drug, Lovaza, is made from a perfectly good, cheap, and commonly available nutritional supplement, (omega-3) fish oil. What's going on here? They, the drug company, are taking something simple, refining it so that they can patent it and charge a whole lot more for it by making it a prescriptiuon drug. By refining it, they may very likely be making it less effective, and probably dangerous as it leaves the "natural" realm.

This is a trial baloon in one of the dreams of the PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex, making all supplements available only by prescription. I am sure that they would just love to do that to Chiropractic as well. And you still think that government control is a plus? How about your own judgment?

The simple to complex thing seems to be common in the health arena. Medicine names thousands of diseases (often inaccurately), and follows that by treatments to counteract whatever they think the disease is doing. The complexity comes out in the massive injury and death toll of Medicine.

Chiropractic is simple. Your brain and your nervous system controls and coordinates your body. When  there is interference...  Vertebral Subluxation.... that control and coordination suffers, resulting in dysfunction, dis-ease and eventually disease. In Chiriopractic, we do not diagnose; we do not treat. We adjust to correct Vertebral Subluxation, and allow the body to do what it is supposed to do. Simple.
